As architects for the Buley Library, Arbonies King Vlock was invited to develop a concept for SCSU’s Academic Green. In collaboration with landscape architects, Towers|Golde, the outcome of our Conceptual Planning Study revealed how the University could change its image, and transform student life and the visitor experience, and unify the campus.

Associated planning involved creating new “gateways” relocating and consolidating parking, and recommending future building sites.

Landscaping knits together disparate buildings of varied architectural styles into a cohesive and comfortable whole. In this design, the Academic Green creates a much needed campus “center” and serves as both outdoor living room and stage for important ceremonial functions.
